trying to trace my grandmothers family tree. she was hannah evans who married john lilley 1893 st marks church hulme manchester. on the marriage certificate says she was born 1874 manchester d/o michael evans deceased.. can find no hannah evans d/o michael on any census and when i look at the free bdm there are many hannah evans born abt that time manchester. i have her on the 1901 census rusholme manchester with husband john lilley are greengrocers. wondered if anyone else happens to be...

Looking for any Walkers decended from Thomas William and Elizabeth (nee wall). In 1890's they lived in Chorlton on Medlock,where they had a drapers shop. their children were Agnes b 1859, Mary Ellen b 1863, Grace b 1866, Thomas William 1868, Sarah 1869, Emily 1863. Agnes married harry LLoyd and moved to Blackpool, Thomas William married Elizabeth getting and moved to Pendlebury, Emily moved to Blackpool to live with her sister.

My great great grandfather Joseph Heapey came from Manchester. He was born around 1799, and I understand that he was a soldier at the battle of Waterloo. Family legend says he was a drummer boy. I have no idea what regiment he served with, and can only guess that it may have been a local one.

So can anyone suggest which regiment he may have joined and how I can find any records to support the above family beliefs?

Looking for information on the family of Samuel Hibbert born Heaton Norris approx 1829. I believe he could have been living at Ince Street at the time of the 1841/1851 census. He married Elizabeth Coakley/Cokeley/Cockley 1852 and some time later moved to Openshaw. Their daughter Emily Hibbert was born 1860 at Grimshaws Buildings, Openshaw. I have failed to locate these on the 1861 census any help gratefully accepted.
